Synopsis
Founded by Manuel León and Jesús López, Estudio Material has quickly gained international recognition for projects that blur the lines between architecture, interiors and collectible design. The studio’s creations have been exhibited across Europe and the Americas, and their work has been published in leading design and architecture platforms.
For Estudio Material, design is a constant dialogue between matter, context and people. Each project is an invitation to reconsider how we inhabit space, how we perceive objects, and how materials can shape our daily lives.
Material at the core: each project begins with a study of texture, resistance and transformation.
Experimental approach: embracing process as much as outcome.
Between tradition and modernity: honoring Mexican craft while pushing boundaries of contemporary design.
The studio works across scales, from residential architecture to collectible objects, with a focus on stone, wood, clay and metals. Their practice combines local artisanal knowledge with modern experimentation, resulting in pieces that are tactile, raw, and deeply rooted in place.
The following pieces by Estudio Material are available exclusively through Soleille Gallery. Each reflects the studio’s exploration of texture, structure and form.
